3 Effective Ways to Use ChatGPT

We live in exciting times.

At the start of the year 2022, no one could've predicted how much the world would be focused on the development of artificial intelligence, but here we are, almost two years later, and businesses across multiple sectors are in a race to integrate AI into their respective workplaces. At the front of the pack is the app that triggered this boom; ChatGPT.

As an A.I. chatbot, ChatGPT has been utilized as a more conversational Google search engine. With its incredible machine learning and data processing systems, it has been used to remarkable effect in copywriting, language translation, report structuring, game design, programming and in so many other creative ways. Granted, as with all new technology, it has limitations.

However, one thing's for sure, ChatGPT is quickly being integrated as a staple part of the corporate workplace for maximizing daily efficiency. It's crucial learn precisely how that can be done.

This is no passing fad. Businesses will be outsourcing ever more and complex problem-solving tasks to ChatGPT as a means of saving cost and streamlining productivity. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, you need to learn how to apply its functions in your field as quickly as possible. Let's start with the basics.

"CONTENT CREATION"

To burned out marketing teams around the world, ChatGPT has been an incredible asset. While the AI needs to be trained with accurate prompts on what your company does and the sort of brand value it should provide to your client base, once that's done it can produce content ideas almost seamlessly.

Where before marketing teams might have found it time-consuming to brainstorm and produce high-quality articles, videos and posts to keep audiences engaged, ChatGPT can help produce a similar amount of content in half the time. All you need to do is have a set of core content ideas in mind and have ChatGPT produce drafts of how you want that creative output to look like. You could even provide immediate constructive feedback to have the content be wittier, more specifically structured to suit the platform it will be posted to or in any other way befitting your brand messaging.

This helps marketers streamline their creative process and gives them a freer schedule to focus on tasks such as SEO optimization and other aspects of project management.

It should be noted that while ChatGPT is an efficient producer, it is not "original". All its content is derivative and somewhat limited. While subscribing to the premium ChatGPT Plus plan plugs the chatbot into the wider internet where it can gather answers from, the free version is based on training data up until the year 2021. In order to avoid plaigarism and ensure its content uniquely aligns with your brand, do not copy-paste everything the A.I. has to offer. Edit and customize it accordingly.

"REPORTS"

Official business correspondence, especially those that involve data analytics, can be time-consuming tasks. With the right prompts, ChatGPT can organize and categorize your data into neat and insightful reports. Be mindful of the prompts you put in to get accurate reports out of ChatGPT, however.

You need to create clear prompts in order for the A.I. to understand the parameters of the data and information you want it to collate. Weak prompts will inevitably generate weak or irrelevant results that require heavy editing. Subject matter expertise on the content of the report is necessary to understand the specific prompts required to produce the most accurate result.

Business writing isn't quite the same thing as content creation. It's much more detailed and doesn't tolerate vagueness. If you're using ChatGPT for this purpose, you must absolutely still be mindful of who you're writing this report for, which team/department it is going to, what do you want them to know from this report and what action are you hoping to inspire from it. (Might even be helpful to use an outline from a previous report.)

Your ChatGPT prompts must be refined until they lead to results that can answer this criteria successfully. This isn't the kind of task that can be "automated". The operator must remain discerning and analytical while writing those prompts as if they were outlining the report without A.I.

While it's an incredible tool for maximizing efficiency, using ChatGPT is no excuse to eject yourself from the work process itself. The last thing you want is an A.I. generated report full of misinterpretations and fallacies making its way to your management's inbox.

"SALES"

A key advantage ChatGPT offers salespeople is the opportunity for self-training. One of the main challenges of being in sales is knowing how to place yourselves in your customer's shoes. With ChatGPT you can train the A.I. to act as a client or salesperson in multiple roleplaying exercises that can help you sharpen your creative sales pitches before the team meeting.

It can also be used for drafting personalized sales emails for clients. The carefully chatbot-curated language can help establish a rapport with your clients, improve your clickability and better emphasize the benefits of your product/service in half the time.

Most crucial however, is how ChatGPT can help with lead generation and customer service.

Typically, it takes a business 10 hours to get back to a lead. With a ChatGPT-integrated chatbot however, your clients would be able to have their queries answered by an A.I. capable of providing specific recommendations based on engaging conversations. Not only would your clients benefit from friendly navigation through your catalogue of products and services, this could help you create a sales funnel for qualified leads. Whose contact and professional information could be gathered through interactive Q&A with ChatGPT.

Additionally, it can use that information to help with lead qualifications. With the right data input - job positions, company and demographic data - ChatGPT will be able to categorize how good of a lead they are based on the most relevant criteria you've set. This could greatly help your sales team adopt a more targeted approach by prioritizing more urgent leads over the rest.

As the world sets off on an A.I. arms race, the global business landscape us sure to shift rapidly as it adapts to the implications of new technology like ChatGPT. It is essential for businesses to seize the initiative and leverage all the advantages that these tools have to offer in order to stay competitive.

It should also be noted that while ChatGPT's natural language processing and machine learning grants the workplace unprecedented efficiency when it comes to content creation, data tabulation and personalized business correspondence, at the end of the day, it is only as good as individual feeding it information. The technology is not a substitute for your talent, but a way to streamline your creativity into a new way of working that gives you more control over your time and where to invest it.

That, is the best way to think about A.I.

Not as a threat or a miraculous device, but as a system of tools only as good as its operators. So use it to the best of your ability and explore all the revolutionary new ways it can take you and your business forward.
